Okay, so I know this doesn't look like much right now, but I figured we needed at least a skeleton before we could start to put meat on them bones. I figure, if we were to imagine a basic starter pony, they'd need to go through a few adventures in order to discover their "cutie mark" and main element, and then after that, as they continue to participate in roleplaying, their "pony stats" can level up, making them more likely to succeed when attempting a particular action. For instance, A Pony with high Kindness like Fluttershy would have a high chance of success attempting to use kindness to "soothe the savage beast" like she did with the Manticore. Some challenges may even involve multiple Pony Stats (continuing with the Fluttershy examples, succeeding against the dragon in the mountain took Loyalty, Kindness, and Courage.)
Feedback, and eventually testing, will be required to find out if this will work or not, but this is the basic idea. There may be additional stats for each type of pony, such as flying speed and wing strength for Pegasus ponies, magic strength and specific categories of spells for Unicorn ponies, and... well... other things for Earth Ponies.
